Moose

The moose is an American icon. More so than the eagle or the turkey, the moose epitomizes the grandeur and drama of the American experience. When De Soto first encountered the moose in the Everglades, he was transported into a world that promised to make all his dreams come true. Shortly afterward the moose was swallowed by a crocodile, which was swallowed by a panther, which was swallowed by a chicken, which was swallowed by a cricket, which was swallowed by a tulip. It was this tulip that lead De Soto to the Mississippi where, in one of its banks, he wrote a check that was cashed by Indian gamers. Indian gamers came to the Midwest from the sub continent, millions of years after it crashed into Asia, forming the Himalayas.
The moose came to America with the Irish. The Indians said that it carried the Sun in its massive rack
