I painted this 36 inch square painting last year and I alternate between thinking it finished and thinking I'll go back into it. I had been thinking of Rembrandt's Storm on the Sea painting, stolen from the Gardner in Boston. And it retains a real nautical presence. Though otherwise sunny, the boat is fragile.
