Pirate Cat

Our cat, Thelma, who mews plaintively as if from light years away, as if she were trapped on a space ship just before it were sucked into a black hole, and as if her can of tuna had just disappeared over the event horizon, loves to perch on my shoulder. In this photo she surveys the room from my shoulder, telepathically sending Jami the contents of my scrabble tiles, as we face off in our see-saw battle of logo-eccentricity. When she's on my shoulders I'm one peculiar pirate. RRRRR 'ev ghot a wee kittchen on me back mewwwwin' furty sea.

no doubt she's thinking of Newton's quote about standing on the shoulders of giants...which was a diss of Leibniz btw.
